Carnett’s Test Video

The video begins with a black screen and the words Chronic Pain Management Guide: Physical Examination. Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration logo are displayed on the top. White text displays the title of the video: Carnett’s Test. Tests for abdominal wall myofascial pain. Reproduction of spontaneous pain is a positive test. The text fades to show two people inside of a hospital examination room. One person is laying on a bed while the other individual, the doctor, is standing next to the bed. The doctor bends over the person laying in the bed and lift up their shirt to show the lower abdomen of the person laying in the bed. The doctor applies pressure to the patients abdomen while instructing her to lift her legs in the air, while keeping them straight. While the legs are extended the doctors applies pressure with her finger tips and moves them in a circular motion. The patient is instructed to rests her legs back down. The screen fades to black and VA U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration logo appears.
